Nicky has been there for us through thick and thin! While some elected officials come and go, frequently using community college seats as launching pads for more “glamorous” positions, Nicky has persevered and endured.

Anyone who knows Peralta up close and personal knows that working and leading in the District is no tea party.

Leadership at Peralta takes grit and determination. It requires working in the trenches. It takes skill to bring together diverse and seemingly competing constituent groups. It takes courage and equanimity in the face of misguided attacks. It requires standing up and representing the values and needs of our community using intelligence, judgment and integrity. Sometimes, it requires saying “no” in the face of threats and bullying. Sometimes it means being in the principled minority, while other times it requires tact and patience to build majorities for good policies.

Through the long-haul of the last twenty years, while others have come and gone, Nicky has persisted with an unwavering vision of the amazing community college district that Peralta is and can be. Now is the time to return Nicky to the Peralta Board for another term. Please lend your support to this effort.
